Is Forever 21 the Next Major Mall Retailer Preparing For Bankruptcy?

During the last 12 months, the retail sector has already seen bankruptcy filings spike, with major retailers in a variety of sub-sectors filing for liquidation, including Sears, Gymboree, and Payless. Bloomberg has reported the women’s fashion retailer Forever 21 is preparing for a potential bankruptcy filing after citing people with knowledge of the company’s plans. According to the report the retailer is consulting advisers to restructure its debt and is looking for additional financing. Forever 21 did not immediately return requests for comment.
